Krystle Ceasar is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Galveston, Texas. She has loved art-making since childhood. When asked by her first grade teacher what she would like to be when she got older, Ceasar proudly replied, “ I want to be an artist.” Most times she would skip playing outside with other children to instead stay in and draw on copier paper her mom brought home from work. For a while, she would recreate the same image drawn from her imagination in effort to improve the drawing. However, she experienced life changes that caused her to switch her focus from drawing to her own personal reality.
Fortunately, her love for drawing was awakened by La Marque High School art teacher, Mrs. Joan Finn. She would dedicate additional hours to her drawing class assignments before and after class. During her junior year in high school, Ceasar won awards at the Texas City Art Festival for three of her drawing pieces.
Ceasar continued her art education at College of The Mainland, in which she learned core art and design principles. While at College of The Mainland, she discovered an interest in traditional and digital photography. She later transferred to the University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Applied Design and Visual Arts program. Ceasar’s natural curiosity and love for learning different methods of creative expression led her to enroll in the university’s Graphic Design tract of the three tract program. She learned to create different design materials using the Adobe Creative Suite software. During her senior year in the undergraduate fine arts program, she participated in juried exhibitions, such as the BFA exhibition at the University of Houston-Clear Art Gallery and the Oh Snap!2 Juried Cell Phone Photo Exhibition at the College of the Mainland Art Gallery. The Oh Snap!2 exhibition was juried by Juliana Forero, director of education for the Houston Center for Photography. Two of her photos were accepted into the Oh Snap!2 exhibition, in which one of them received a third place award.
In 2014, Ceasar received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Houston- Clear Lake. She has used her studies in graphic design and photography to start her freelance portrait photography and design business, Kinetic Visions. Ceasar has designed logos and promotional materials for small businesses and non-profit organizations, including the White Coats 4 Black Lives, #ActionsSpeakLouder national campaign.
In addition to providing design and photography services, she is currently creating collections of traditional drawing and painting pieces. Inspired by life as well as artists such as, Wassily Kandinsky, Andy Warhol, and contemporary artists, Ceasar enjoys painting both abstract and portrait pieces. With a desire to inspire and motivate others to relish in creative expression, Ceasar plans to use her art to make a positive impact on others.
